FreShGA is one of the nine First-Year Leadership Organizations (FLOs) on campus and the First-Year Committee of the Student Government Association (SGA). It seeks dedicated incoming first-years who want to become involved on campus and provides them with the opportunity to ease into leadership roles with valuable event-planning experience. FreShGA members serve on an SGA committee and learn from their SGA mentors. Since their time in FreShGA, our alumni have leaped into numerous roles on campus, including the current and former SGA Presidents, FASET cabinet members, Fraternity and Sorority Presidents, and many other positions in clubs, organizations, sports teams, and volunteer groups. Even the past two convocation speakers are FreShGA alumni. Last but not least, FreShGA offers an opportunity to make lifelong friendships through preparing for and running these two events together, as FreShGA, for the Georgia Tech community.
The Final Stand
The Final Stand is FreShGA’s first event and oldest tradition held in early November, known as the largest student run event on campus with over 900 students in attendance. It was held at the CRC from 10 pm – 2 am on April 21st, 2023 this past year. Students compete in athletic events, win prizes in giveaways, and enjoy free food and t-shirts provided by FreShGA. In past years, we have given out iPads, concert tickets, cameras, and more prizes to event and raffle winners.

Campus Policy Research and Benchmarking Study
In the spring semester, FreShGA members identify an area on campus that can be improved, research current policy, and propose possible solutions that they will present to the SGA Cabinet and the Undergraduate House of Representatives. Through this process, FreShGA members will learn the process of how to perform a benchmarking study and how to move up into higher positions within SGA or other leadership roles on campus.
